Ranch, farm and equestrian

Dust coats everything, gates fail, pack strings scatter. A day on the place means fence pliers, a phone, a hoof pick, vet wrap, a knife and a few staples, and none of it belongs in a jeans pocket. The bag puts all of it on the hip, in order, and clips to the saddle when you ride so it is there when you get down.

The Brookshire is the ranch bag: 40-ounce waxed twill canvas with full-grain leather and solid brass, materials that scuff and darken into a patina instead of fraying. The Saddleback does the same job in 1000D nylon with leather accents, lighter and easier to hose off after a wet week.

Both share the ten-pocket layout, the magnetic gate and the five carries. Hip for the barn, chest when you are on a horse or a four-wheeler, side carry clipped to a pack or a saddle bag for the long days.

Tool belts are not built for this

The leg strap keeps the bag planted when you kneel, climb or ride.

How it works

First responders and trades

One-motion access when seconds matter and hands need to do what they are trained for. Shears, gloves, a light, a radio, a tourniquet: each in its own pocket, each where you left it, and the gate opens with one hand and closes itself so nothing spills when you move.

Chest carry sits over a vest or a jacket and keeps the load in front of you. Hip carry sits under a coat or on a duty belt. The leg strap keeps the bag planted when you kneel, climb or ride. Zero the strap once and the changeover between carries takes seconds, with no repacking.

The Saddleback and Sportsman are the two most responders choose: 1000D nylon shells, YKK zippers that do not jam with grit, and a shape that stays flat against the body instead of swinging. Black on black is available in both.

From people who carry one

I wear my bag daily and have so for over a year. It holds up with me biking to work three days a week, walking the con floor, or just along for road trips.
